Builder Gel Nails Explained
Builder gel nails are stronger and more durable than regular shellac gel. Builder gels come in the form of hard gels or soft gels. Generally, hard gels are better at supporting longer nails or those with long extensions. Soft gels are great on real nails or shorter tips.
A new set of builder gel nails starts with preparing your cuticles and the nail beds using an e-file nail drill. Plastic nail tips are glued onto the nail beds for extra length as desired.
Nails are filed into desired shapes. BIAB gel is applied to nails and cured under a UV lamp. Nail art and designs can be done on the newly created nails.
When it’s time for the next nail appointment, the colours are filed off. We can apply a new BIAB gel to the regrowth. Minimum work is required on the initial builder gel sections. Alternatively, you may choose to soak off the set and start a new one.
Builder gels can be filed off or soak off with gel removers. It is best done professionally to avoid damage.
